The Prefilled ApiJect Injector* is a delivery system designed to bring together the benefits of prefilled syringes with the manufacturing efficiency of multi-dose presentations.

Expanding BFS for Injectables

The Prefilled ApiJect Injector* is the combination of two trusted technologies: the Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) aseptic drug packaging process, and a pen needle-style needle hub. BFS is used globally to fill-finish billions of drug doses per year, and pen needles are used globally primarily for insulin injection.

Both the manufacturing and filling of BFS containers, as well as the production of needle hubs, can be done cost effectively at any scale, allowing pharma companies to have an efficient prefilled delivery system built on a compact supply chain for their parenteral products.

Designed for Simple, Reliable Drug Delivery

The device is designed for simplicity: Just prior to injection, a fill-finished BFS container and intramuscular needle hub are pushed together by a healthcare professional.

This attachment causes the needle to pierce the BFS container, activating the device. The liquid drug product can then be expelled by the healthcare professional squeezing the BFS container.

*The Prefilled ApiJect Injector and its components are not cleared by the FDA or other regulatory bodies.
